Summertime at the water's edge

I realize that Vermont is most celebrated for the seasons of autumn and winter, but oh, what you're missing if you don't explore New England in the summer. I'm going to be very biased and say that The Inn at Water's Edge carries an extra special touch of magic in the summertime, not only because of it's location in the Green Mountains but also because of it's position on Echo Lake.

Our morning view of Echo Lake

Each morning is a surprise. Sometimes the fog is laying softly on the water and sometimes the water mimics a sheet of glass, reflecting the trees and mountains that surround us here. Often you'll see ducks, and eagles and once in a while the shy loons will reveal themselves, perhaps only by one of their four distinctive calls -- the wail, yodel, tremolo, or hoot.

When I think back over the summers since we purchased the Inn, what I love the most is when we are honored to host family or friend reunions, golf outings, book clubs, and the like. When groups come, fun happens and lives are enriched by the emersion of "the place". You don't just rent a house somewhere, but you get an experience that incorporates sensational breakfasts, evening bar service, boating, hiking, music and comradery PLUS, you don't have to go through a long list of "to do's" and chores before you check out!

Come on over to experience it for yourself. Soak in the "rest" of it.

Fill your lungs with the air and your hearts with the beauty.

You won't regret it for a moment.
