Over the past 9 months, since we bought the Inn at Water's Edge, my time and energy have been devoted to lovingly restoring a beautiful property that was in need of a face lift. In many ways, it has been much more fun than I ever imagined. I enjoy transformations of all sorts, so this renovating thing was right up my alley; however, budgets, taxes, licenses, forms...not so much. It gave me a whole new respect for my husband, starting and growing a business that has supported our family for over 30 years. Now, the culmination of all of my hard work and creative planning is right at my fingertips. We opened "softly" three times, one weekend each in January, February and March, with an official opening date of March 13th, but as they say, "the best laid plans"...
The coronavirus reared its ugly head, and here we are, all dressed up with no place to go. My heart is aching for those most affected by this virus. We are hoping and praying that the spread is minimal, and that we won't be isolated for long since that brings its own set of issues and problems. In the meantime, let's be loving (do we really need all 20 cases of TP?), generous (looking out for our neighbors), and kind (realizing that there are many in much worse circumstances). This too shall pass. Stay safe and healthy. Our sympathy goes out to any of you who have been devastated by this or any other tragedy.
When it's time, we'll open and will welcome you with healthy hands and grateful hearts. See you then!
